Poker Strategy Tip: The Semi Bluff

The semi bluff is a bet or raise made when you are on a flush or straight draw, sometimes in combination with over cards.  At the time of the bet you do not hold a made hand, however you are betting in hopes of either taking down the pot or hitting your draw on a future street.  A semi bluff is an important tool in a poker players arsenal because it helps to mix up your game and make it harder for opponents to put you on a hand.
