What is the WSOP Academy?
The WSOP Academy (World Series of Poker Academy) offers a series of poker instructional events lead by top poker professionals in premier casino properties across the United States. The WSOP Academy arms participants with the skills required to accomplish their poker goals. Through seminars, live interactive demonstrations and poker tournaments/challenges, the WSOP Academy will elevate your poker game and give you the tools to dominate your poker table be it your home game or the World Series of Poker Main Event!

When was the WSOP Academy established?
The WSOP Academy (formerly Camp Hellmuth) was launched by Harrah’s Operating Company, Inc., a subsidiary of Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE:HET) in January 2007. All WSOP Academy events are managed and produced by Post Oak Productions.

Who are the instructors at the WSOP Academy?
Our carefully selected instructors are some of the worlds best poker players, behavioral experts and poker media personalities. The WSOP Academy works only with the best of the best. Our instructors have been hired for their professional expertise and skill as well as their abilities to lead, teach, discuss, motivate and make the WSOP Academy experience as much enjoyable as it is educational. EVENTS

What type of poker instructional events does the WSOP Academy offer?
The WSOP Academy offers four types of poker training academies. Tournament, Cash Game, Advanced and Special Academies. For more information about the types of poker events offered see the Academies page.

How many people attend each WSOP Academy Event?
The number of attendees depends on the host city, the time of year and the type of event. Because our philosophy is to create a positive and intimate learning experience the event size is usually limited from 30 to around 80 people for two day academies and from 75 to around 150 people for three day academies.
By limiting the number of seats available this allows us to provide you with a low instructor to attendee ratio which means that you will receive a high level of one-on-one attention and personalized feedback making for the ultimate poker learning experience.

What level of knowledge and experience do I need to have to attend a WSOP Academy Event?
Our exclusive poker training events have been tailored to suit any poker player from the novice to the experienced poker player. We believe that in order to achieve poker greatness and make more money playing poker that you always have to be a student of the game.

What is the WSOP Academy Tournament Of Champions?
The WSOP Academy Tournament of Champions is an annual single-table Texas Holdem tournament held exclusively for WSOP Academy graduates who have won a WSOP Academy tournament or cash game competition. At each WSOP Academy event at least one WSOP Academy Tournament of Champions package is awarded.
The Tournament of Champion prize package includes an all expense paid trip to Las Vegas, entry to the Main Event Primer Academy, plus a seat in the Tournament of Champions itself. The winner of the WSOP Academy Tournament of Champions will receive a $10,000 entry in the World Series of Poker Main Event.

REGISTRATION, PAYMENTS & DISCOUNTS

How do I register?
There are 2 ways to register:

Online: To register for an event online go to the event schedule page and select the event that you want to attend. Follow the registration steps.
By Phone: To register by phone call us at 1 800-989-WSOP(9767)

What payments do you accept?
We proudly accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Paypal. Visa, Mastercard and Paypal payments are processed online through secure processing and American Express is processed over the phone.

How much does it cost to attend a WSOP Academy?
The cost varies by event. In general, attendees make an investment ranging from $1,699.00 to $2499.00. For specific pricing go to the Academies page and select the Academy of your choice.

Do I have to pay the full amount of the WSOP Academy event before attending?
Absolutely not! We understand that in this challenging economy you may need flexible payment options. With our Play Now Pay Later program you can register for just 25% percent down with three equal monthly payments thereafter. For more information go to the Play Now Pay Later page.

Does WSOP Academy offer a group discount for registering multiple attendees?
Yes, If you register 3 or more people for the same WSOP Academy event date, you will receive a discount of up to 10%. Please call 1 800-989-WSOP(9767) for details and to register.

TRANSFER & CANCELLATION POLICY

What if I register for a WSOP Academy event, but then can’t attend?
In the unlikely situation that you are unable to attend an event after you register you must contact us at least 7 days prior to the event to arrange to transfer to a future event or send someone to take your place. If you provide WSOP Academy with less than 7 days notice, or fail to attend, you will be liable for the entire registration fee. We appreciate that this is an important investment for you and would like to accommodate your needs the best we can.

What can I do if Im unsatisfied with a WSOP Academy event that I attended?
At WSOP Academy, we guarantee the satisfaction of our attendees. In fact, 98% of our past attendees say they would recommend the WSOP Academy event they have attended to their friends. If you are not satisfied with a WSOP Academy event for which you have attended, WSOP Academy will give you credit toward another event of comparable price.

TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATION

Can WSOP Academy help make my hotel reservations?
WSOP Academy does not arrange hotel accommodations. However, WSOP Academy has negotiated special rates with the host casino property hotel where they hold a block of rooms for WSOP Academy attendees for up to two weeks prior to the event start date. Refer to your confirmation registration email for the phone number of the hotel. When you call the hotel, mention that you are a WSOP Academy attendee to secure your special rate, if available. We recommend you make your reservations early.
